This one caught me off guard. Arduino, the company most of us associate with microcontrollers and blinking LEDs, have released an SBC. The UNO Q runs a Qualcomm QRB2210 with 2GB of LPDDR4X, and whilst the Geekbench scores of 190 SC / 527 MC are modest, I think the story here is less about the performance and more about what Arduino are trying to do. It feels like they’re testing the waters in the SBC market, and having Qualcomm silicon in an Arduino product is something that we should have seen coming given Qualcomm’s acquisition of them. Whether there’s a meaningful audience for it beyond curiosity remains to be seen, however, as it was a rather confusing product.
