The firm's five-year contract, initially estimated to be worth £6m, has more than a year left to run - however a new company will start taking over the work in the coming months.

"It would be nice for people to still carry on doing [manufacturing], rather than get just some robot, like they do in Japan, just to assemble it all, because it's the human touch," he said.
"I'd rather take a hard, clear action now and build from a position we believe in than manage a slow reduction of people toward the same outcome," he wrote.
